When compared to the placebo conditions, mindfulness meditation–based #pain relief engages multiple mechanisms that are associated with cognitive control and pain relief. A 20 minute session per day was the minimum used in the experiment.
Significant reductions in pain intensity and pain unpleasantness were seen with mindfulness meditation.
